“Okay guys, let’s have no meeting today!”

Not sure if boycotting meetings is the right approach by 37signals, but I like the idea (and web page)! There probably will always be necessary meetings, depending on the business and tasks.

Anyway, I think it’s very important to point attention in the direction of all the lost time and the curse of interruption by – more or less useless – meetings.

Maybe it’s time to create a new meeting culture – a non meeting culture.

What are your ideas for a new meeting culture or what could actually replace meetings? What is the downside of ‘no meetings’?

I loved AirBnB since they started. I like their website, their iPhone app [yes, here's a designer speaking ] and of course all the beautiful places you can find and stay at all over the world!

You might not really save a lot of money, but you get some (hopefully and mostly) nice social experience and insider knowhow of the town you stay in. Also you will not miss the clean charm of a hotel and you will feel like at home and with friends – sounds nice, right!

I briefly men tioned this site in this past Monday’s Quick Links, but I’m so excited about it that I feel it deserves a post of its own. Fonts In Use is a new site from the minds of Sam Berlow, Stephen Coles, and Nick Sherman that aims to exam ine real-world typog ra phy. The blog that is cur rently up and run ning on the site is just the begin ning of what’s to come, yet it already boasts a whole range of excel lent fea tures. I have no doubt that this will be an excel lent resource and I’m excited to see how it develops.

This is an amazing idea! Imagine the fascinating and at the same time maybe profane stories you can hear, illustrated by expressions and shared feelings.
